If confidence is not your middlemen and a knack to strike a conversation on meeting a perfect stranger is not your cup of tea, then you can go in for the time tested method of placing a dating advertisement in your local newspaper. Frilly words or exaggerated statements of your personality may not give you the desired results, just convey your message in a straightforward fashion and sit back in the comfort of your house and wait for the tinkle. If basking in the sun and strolling down your neighborhood is your way of de-stressing than you can easily turn this activity as an opportunity to find a date! Strange as it may sound, but getting a date can be quicker and faster than placing an advertisement in a paper.Take a stroll to your nearest supermarket and lo and behold, you may find many aspirants like you with roving eyes, window shopping with no intentions whatsoever of filling their shopping bags.

Your offer to help a serious shopper with heavily laden bags can be the perfect modus operandi to strike a conversation. A cousin of mine who was very keen to be more than just friends with his pretty neighbor happened to spot her one evening at the local supermarket. With a bag in her hand, she was intently looking at various cosmetics displayed on the rack. Our friend seized this opportunity to show his ‘in-depth’ knowledge about beauty products. After exchanging pleasantries, he began his tirade on how cosmetic companies today in the name of ayurveda and herbal lure gullible consumers. The best option would be to go for grandma’s home made concoctions to achieve beauty without the fear of side-effects! Expecting to be praised for his valuable guidance, my cousin’s smiling __expression rapidly changed to an embarrassing one when the girl meekly declared that ‘she was representing a herbal cosmetic company who had launched their new face pack. Her presence in the store was ‘merely’ to promote the new product! Think before you speak was obviously a phrase my cousin abhorred but it worked wonders for him at this instance at least because his friendship with the girl soon blossomed into love!
