The Government has reconstituted the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) Society. Prof. U.R. Ananthamurthy has been renominated as Chairman of the Society. Sh. Mike Pandey, Sh. Bobby Bedi, Dr. Jabbar Patel, Smt. Nafisa Ali and Smt. Aruna Vasudev have been appointed members in the category of ‘Persons of eminence connected with Films & TV, Education, Journalism, Literature, Fine Arts, Dramatists, Performing Arts etc’. In the category ‘Alumni of FTII’, S/Shri Ketan Mehta, Tom Alter, Danny Denzongpa and Smt. Shabana Azmi has been nominated.
Addl. Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of I&B, Joint Secretary (Films), CEO, Prasar Bharati, Chairman, CBFC; Managing Director, National Film Development Corporation; Chief Producer, Films Division; Director, National School of Drama; Director, IIMC; Director, NFAI, Pune and Director FTII will be the ex-officio members.
S/Shri A.K. Srivastava, Director, SRFTII, T.K. Rajeev Kumar, Chairman, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy and Navtej Singh Sarna, JS (XP), Ministry of External Affairs will bee members in the category of ‘Experts representing the activities of the Central Government.’
The reconstituted body is for the block starting March 04, 2005 and would be in place for a three-year period, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
