CBI files chargesheet against four for highway robbery and double murder near gurgaon

The CBI today filed charge sheet against four persons Gurcharan Sharma @ Radhey, Kapil Dev @ Sunil Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Mahender Singh of Gurgaon, for abduction of truck driver Naresh Kumar and cleaner Azad Singh of the truck No. HR-46 A-8092 and looting of the electronic items like DVD parts, remote controls, speakers etc. which were being transported in the said truck from Bangalore to M/s Shiv Enterprises of Delhi.

Another accused Udai Veer Singh of Mainpuri, UP is absconding. The four accused persons hatched a criminal conspiracy to loot trucks plying on the route with costly items for which they hired a godown in Kadipur Industrial Area in August 2002 and also hired a dhaba on Pataudi Road, Gurgaon for attracting the drivers / cleaners of the trucks carrying goods. On 11.9.2002, Truck No. HR-46A-8092, driven by driver Naresh Kumar and cleaner Azad Singh with electronic items stopped at the dhaba. After talking to the driver and cleaner, the accused mixed sleeping pills in the rotis and three of the accused requested for a lift upto Gurgaon whereas accused Gurcharan Sharma @ Radhey followed the truck in his motorcycle. Accused Udai Veer Singh remained in the dhaba. On the way, they stabbed and killed the driver and the cleaner and looted the electronic items which they sold in the market. The dead bodies were dumped in a gutter in Sector-10, Gurgaon. Recovery of the knife and some belongings of the deceased were made by the CBI. The accused pointed out the place where they had dumped the dead bodies but the dead bodies were not found there . During investigation, 138 remote controls, 2 speakers and connected spare parts of the lot of the consignment in the truck were recovered from a shop, which were identified to be part of the consignment being brought in the truck. The truck was found in empty condition near Ahir College, Rewari.

The charge sheet has been filed in the Court of CBI Special Magistrate at Ambala for offences u/s 120-B IPC, 364, 392, 397, 34 IPC. 4 of the accused are in judicial custody.
