sky bus tested successfully in goa

The Sky Bus, which has been invented by the Managing Director of Konkan Railway Corporation, Shri B. Rajaram, tested successfully on 1.1 kilometre test track at Madgaon, Goa at a high speed of 50 kilometers per hour yesterday. The preview of this successful run was witnessed by a large number of people and the Media.

The run on full 1.6 kilometre test track will be conducted at the end of this month. It will be formally inaugurated by the Union Minister of Railways, Shri Lalu Prasad on October 15, 2004 at Madgaon, marking the celebrations of Foundation Day of the Konkan Railway. On that day, Shri B. Rajaram will hand over the Assignment Deed of patent right of Sky Bus to the Railway Minister.

Sky Bus is the most economic and eco-friendly solution for the transportation problems of cities like Mumbai, Delhi and other metros and mini-metros without taking any urban space. It will create urban space. The Konkan Railway has submitted a Sky Bus proposal for various cities as the new millennium technology of India. It is intended to deliver the same capacity as underground and elevated heavy metro systems, while being safer and costing less than half to quarter of foreign technologies.
