A high-level delegation of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting led by the Secretary, I & B, Shri Navin Chawla, visited the Kashmir valley from September 22 to 24. The Principal Information Officer, Dr. Shakuntala Mahawal, Director-General, Doordarshan, Shri Navin Kumar and Director-General, All India Radio, Shri Brijeshwar Singh also accompanied the Secretary.
During the visit, Shri Navin Chawla and the delegation visited various Media Units in Srinagar which includes Press Information Bureau, Radio Kashmir and Doordarshan Srinagar and took stock of working of these units. The Central team also exchanged views with the senior officers of the State Administration and the security forces at a State level Local Media Advisory Group meeting chaired by the State Chief Secretary, Shri S.S. Biloria in Srinagar on September, 24. Shri Navin Chawla along with the Director Generals of AIR and Doordarshan inspected the Doordarshan transmitters at Rajouri and Nowshera in Jammu division on Friday.
