The President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, has congratulated India’s Paralympian, Devendra for winning the Gold Medal in the Javelin Throw in the ongoing Paralympics in Athens, Greece.
In his congratulations message, Dr. Kalam has said, “ I am delighted to receive the news that you have won the gold medal in the Javelin Throw event at the ongoing Paralympics in Athens. The achievement praiseworthy in itself is even more laudable as you are the first Indian to win a gold medal at these games and have also set a new world record in the event.
This joyous and proud achievement is a testimony of the unbreakable will of the spirit over the body and once again proves that the differently abled can conquer all obstacles to achieve their goals.
