performance of railway production units in april-july 2004

All the six Railway Production Units performed well during the first four months of the current financial year ending July 2004, with the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and the Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) exceeding the target of coaches and axles respectively.

The Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) met the target by producing 35 electric locomotives, the Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), Varanasi 35 diesel locomotives, the ICF, Chennai 280 coaches, the RWF, Bangalore 39235 wheels and 18591 axles. The Diesel Modernization Works (DMW), Patiala rebuilt 24 diesel locomotives.

The Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala rolled out 337 coaches against the target of 348. The number of wagons, produced in July 2004, was 1810 against the target of 1800.
