A group of 23 trainees of the Women Empowerment Centre (WEC), Kargil paid their respects to martyrs at the Amar Jawan Jyoti here today.

The WEC, an initiative of the Army, aims at training women to acquire skills in weaving, knitting, tailoring, block printing and computers.

The women also visited the Delhi Zoo, where some of them saw monkeys, tigers and other animals for the first time in their lives. The group also visited Jama Masjid and Qutub Minar.
