Justice U.C. Banerjee High Level Committee, constituted to ascertain the cause of fire in 9166 Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27, 2002 and generally matters connected therewith and incidental thereto, has issued a Notification inviting members of the public to come forward before the Committee and provide any information, which may be relevant to the incident of fire on Sabarmati Express. Desirous persons would be provided with travel facilities.

The Committee, assisted by three experts, S/Shri K. Balakesari, S.K. Khanna and S.K. Dheri, has started functioning from September 10, 2004 with headquarters at New Delhi.
