The Government has appointed Lt. Gen. (Retd.) D.P. Sehgal as Member of Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT). The appointment of Shri Sehgal will be for a period of three years with effect from 15th September, 2004.
TDSAT has been established by the Government to adjudicate into disputes in the telecom sector between a licensor, a licensee, a service provider. It also disposes of appeals against any direction or decision of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Besides Justice D.P. Wadhwa as Chairman, the Tribunal consists of two Members. Shri Vinod Vaish, a retired IAS officer, is the other Member of the Tribunal.
