The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has approved the appointment of Dr Arjun Sengupta as Chairman of the National Commission on Enterprises in the Unorganised / Informal Sector. Dr Sengupta, a former Member of the Planning Commission and who has served in the IMF and the World Bank, has been given a Cabinet rank. The Commission will have three members whose names will be announced shortly.
