vice president installs mahatma gandhi’s statue at bharat bhavan in bucharest

The Vice President, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today installed a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Bharat Bhawan, the residence of India’s ambassador to Romania in Bucharest. Speaking on the occasion he said that the ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi worked for the welfare of the whole world and the mankind.

Shri Shekhawat said that Gandhiji worked not only for India, but also infused the spirit of patriotism among people of other countries of Asia and Africa. For this, he will always be remembered with great honour.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Shri Shekhawat began his official engagements in Romania this morning with participation in all- religion prayer. People of Romania also joined him at the recitation of Gandhiji’s favourite hymn ‘vaishnavjan to teney kahiye’.
