The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has left for Singapore to deliver the inaugural address at the Conference on Gateway to Logistics Opportunities in India opening tomorrow at Singapore. The Conference being organised by the Federation of India Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) from 8th to 10th September, aims to attract potential investors from Singapore who would be apprised of business opportunities in India in Logistic sector.
Considering the emphasis of the Government on upcoming Public- private Partnership, the conference would be the right platform to showcase Indias massive highway development programmes. Logistics Consultancy may play a lead role in implementation of these massive projects.
During the stay in Singapore, Thiru Baalu is scheduled to have a meeting with the Minister of Transport of Singapore to discuss the issues of the mutual interests between the two countries and some other meetings with industry leaders to invite investments in the country, besides formal meetings with the Singapore Business Federation and Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The Conference will have several Sessions on India which include Overview of Logistics Development in India, Experience of Logistics Providers in India, Supply Chain Management and Emerging Opportunities in this sector. The Conference would be addressed by eminent experts and industry leaders.
