A Swedish delegation of Parliamentary Committee on Cultural Affairs today met the Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Culture, Shri S. Jaipal Reddy. They discussed issues related to the promotion of cultural exchanges between the two nations. Shri Reddy said that the cultural organizations of both countries such as the Swedish Institute and ICCR/Ministry of Culture could reach an agreement of cooperation in the related fields. It was felt that the possibility of signing on film co-production agreement could be examined, as Indian films are quite popular in Sweden. Shri Reddy apprised the visitors about the Indian culture and monuments and the systems adopted by the Government to maintain and promote Indian art and culture.
