subsidy and maximum retail prices for single super phosphate

Thursday, September 22, 2005

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved, on the recommendations of Committee of Secretaries (COS), an increase in the adhoc concession rate of Single Super Phosphate (SSP) from Rs.650 per MT to Rs.975 per MT with effect from September 1, 2005. It would be applicable on sales of SSP made on or after September 1, 2005. The State Governments would be advised to maintain the same level of MRP.

The increased adhoc concession would make the SSP available to the farmers at a reasonable price. This would impart an important sulphur nutrient to the soil and lead to increased production.
