Six bidders have sent their bids for restructuring and modernization of Mumbai Airport, five of whom have also bid for the Delhi Airport. This information was given by Shri Ajay Prasad, Secretary Ministry of Civil Aviation after the completion of the bidding process at 5.00 p.m. today.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation had finalized the Transaction Document for restructuring and modernization the Mumbai and Delhi Airport on 30th August 2005 and given it to the pre-qualified bidders asking them to give their Financial and Technical bids within two weeks.
Out of the eight pre-qualified bidders, two withdrew from the bidding process. One was the Joint Venture, consortium led by Bharti Enterprises whose foreign partner was Changi Airport of Singapore. The other was the Joint Venture consortium led by the Piramal holdings with Hochtief airport their foreign partner.
The technical bids shall now be opened on a fixed date in front of the bidders. Then the process of evaluating the technical bids will commence. The second stage of evaluation would be to open the financial bids. The Secretary said that the Ministry would endeavour to complete the process as soon as possible.
