The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu will inaugurate the Seminar on “High Speed Road Corridors” organised by the Indian Road Congress here tomorrow.
The Seminar will have three themes namely Planning and Design, Operation and Maintenance and Financing and Risk Management. It aims at providing a forum to the highway engineers, planners, investors, consultants, regulating authorities, contractors and toll operators to exchange their knowledge and experience in the field of High speed Road Corridors.
The Seminar is designed to present state-of-art practices in planning and design, operation and maintenance, financing and risk management of High Speed Road Corridors based on national and international experiences. During the Seminar, case studies will also be presented which would be helpful in identifying the areas of concern and revision of the existing Specifications and Codes of Practices and also in developing new codes/guidelines on High Speed Road Corridors.
