PRESS NOTE
BIHAR ELECTIONS - CHANGE IN POLLING TIMINGS
The Election Commission has earlier fixed 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. as hours of poll for General Elections to Legislative Assembly of Bihar, 2005. Requests have been received in the Commission to change the hours of poll because with the onset of winter the sunset is early and the darkness will fall early in the evening and this may cause inconvenience to voters.
The Commission has considered the matter and now decided that the hours of poll shall be as below:-
for 1st and 2nd phase 7.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
for 3rd and 4th phase 7.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
