An Annular Eclipse of the Sun will occur in the afternoon of Monday the 3rd October 2005 (11 Asvina 1927 SE). It will be visible in India as a partial eclipse through out the country.
The general visibility of the eclipse is covering the Eastern Greenland, Iceland, Europe (including the British Isles), Africa except Southern tip, Western Asia including India.
Considering the Earth as a whole the eclipse begins at h. 13-16 I.S.T., which the shadow of the Moon first touches the Earth at local sunrise at a point in the Atlantic Ocean near Azores (Port) Island at latitude 41º 08 North and longitude 23º 05 West. The eclipse ends at h. 18-58 I.S.T when the Moons shadow finally leaves the Earth at local sunset at a point in the Indian Ocean near Mauritius at latitude 16º 41 South and longitude 66º 31 East. The Annular Phase begins at h. 14-13 I.S.T at a point in the Atlantic Ocean east of Newfound Land at latitude 48º 13 North and longitude 38º 56 West. The Annular Phase ends at h. 17-51 I.S.T. at a point in the Indian Ocean near Chagos (Br.) at latitude 09º 34 South and longitude 82º 48 est. The greatest phase of the eclipse with magnitude 0.958 occurs at h. 16-02 I.S.T. at a point west of Khartoum in Sudan at latitude 12º 53 North and longitude 28º 45 East. At this point the duration of the Annular Phase is 4m26s.
