There have been reports in some sections of the media that Planning Commission has recommended resignation of electricity regulators at the Centre and in the States with a view to revamping the regulatory setup. The Planning Commission has made no such recommendation; nor is any such recommendation presently being contemplated. These reports are baseless and misleading.
