navy rescue teams to storm affected area in andhra pradesh

Eastern Naval Command, headquartered at Visakhapatnam, yesterday dispatched three teams to 'Khammam' to render assistance to the flood affected people. The teams are equipped with Gemini boats, outboard motors, diving sets medicines and medical personnel. They would also provide assistance to civil administration to rescue the flood-affected people. The Eastern Naval Command has deployed five diving teams and one medical team for providing assistance to the people affected in area of Gnanapuram, Railway colony, HB colony and St. Peter School near Gajuwaka. The naval teams yesterday evacuated over 150 personnel and also distributed 700 food and water packets to the needy. The medical teams consisting of one doctor and ten medical personnel were on call throughout the night. Eastern Naval Command has kept additional personnel ready for quick deployment in case the need arises.
