Ministry of Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation has extended the last date for receipt of entries/applications for various awards in the area of housing, urban employment and poverty alleviation. Now the entries will be accepted till 30th September, 2005. These awards, proposed to be given during the celebration of World Habitat Day in the 1st week of October have been instituted for the first time to appreciate/encourage innovative and cost effective technology, micro-finance, housing for weaker sections, slum development, etc.
