khetri copper complex gets power

Power Ministry has appreciated the problem of power supply in some areas of Rajasthan, particularly the plight of people due to the closure of Khetri Copper Project in view of stoppage of power supply by the State Distribution company and asked the Power Trading Corporation to arrange atleast 50 MW power. The Centre has also earmarked 25 MW of additional power from the unallocated quota in the northern region, and the Northern Region Load Despatch Centre is being advised accordingly.

The power Minister, Shri P.M. Sayeed in a letter, today conveyed Union Mines Minister that Government of India is in touch with the State Power Transmission Company and accordingly the power supply to the Khetri Copper Project has already been restored. Shri Ola on September 7, 2005 met the Prime Minister and the Power Minister and requested an immediate step as the people in Rajasthan were suffering from power shortage.
