justice binod kumar roy, chief justice of guwahati high court transferred to sikkim high court

The President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, has transferred Justice Binod Kumar Roy, Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court as the Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court and directed him to assume charge of the office of Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court on or before 30th September, 2005.

Justice Binod Kumar Roy was enrolled as an Advocate in the Patna High Court and practiced in Civil, Labour, Revenue (excluding taxation), Criminal and Constitutional cases. He was appointed as a permanent Judge of the Patna High Court on October 31, 1988. He was transferred to the Allahabad High Court on April 28, 1994. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on October 14, 2002 and was transferred as Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court on February 4, 2005.

Justice Dinendra Biswas, Judge of the Guwahati High Court will be the acting Chief Justice of the said High Court.
