Indian Railways have bagged the Irani Trophy after scoring 50 runs required in the second innings against Rest of India on the 4th day of the Irani Trophy cricket match here today. In the first innings, Indian Railways had scored 331 runs with a lead of 88 runs after Rest of India were all out on 223 runs. In the second innings, Rest of India were all out for 137 runs. Indian Railways team, which required only 50 runs in the second innings to win, easily made it losing only one wicket with one day’s play to spare.

Indian Railways were the Ranji Trophy winners for the year 2004-05. BCCI had entrusted Railways to host the Irani Trophy Match at Karnail Singh Stadium, New Delhi. The prize money for the winner of this Trophy is Rs. 2 lakhs.
