The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for filling up of the vacant posts belonging to the technical categories under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which have been lying unfilled since the issue of the DoP&Ts orders dated 16 May 2001 pertaining to downsizing instructions. These posts had not been filled up for the reason that the proposal from exemption from the orders in respect of the Health Sector was under consideration.
Cabinet also gave its approval for granting of relaxation to this Ministry in respect of the Ministry of Finance instructions regarding lapse of vacancies in case they remain unfilled for more than a year in favour of the scientific and technical posts to the extent that the permissible time-period be enhanced to three years in respect of future vacancies.
The vacancies in the Technical categories of posts will be filled up resulting in smooth functioning of the scientific and technical institutions engaged in health Care Delivery and related activities under the deptt.
