Lieutenant General VC Jain, Director General of EME has been honoured with the Eminent Engineer Award for the Year 2005 by the Institution of Engineers (India). The award was conferred on the 38th Engineers Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya.
General Jain is an alumni of IIT, Delhi where he attained his Masters Degree. A specialist in the field of KWADRAT WEAPON SYSTEM having been trained in erstwhile USSR in 1981, the General Officer had the distinction of intensive association with the multi disciplinary war waging equipment and weapon systems held in the inventory of the Army.
General Jain is a highly decorated soldier. Awarded with ‘Ati Vishist Seva Medal’ he bears a mark of distinction of having been awarded ‘Vishist Seva Medal’ twice.
