CBI arrests an Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax for possession of huge assets

CBI has arrested an Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, New Delhi for possession of huge assets. The accused was producced before the designated court Delhi today and remanded to CBI custody for three days.
The case was registered against the acused on 29th Sept.2005 on the allegation that during the year 1980 onwards, he accumulated disporportionate assets worth Rs.44.35 lakh. Searches were conducted on 30.09.2005 at the residential premises of the accused which resulted in the recovery of Bank balance worth Rs.80,000/-; documents relating to one poultry farm at village Malikpur (Tajpur), Distt. Sonipat, ( cost around Rs.15 lakh), one factory of manufacturing pump sets at A-52, G.T. Karnal Road, Delhi, a plot at Shalimar Extension and two & a half storeyed house at Kapil Vihar. The assets are either in his name or in the name of his family members. He is also having a Corsa Car in the name of his son.

Further investigation is continuing.
