CBI arrests an absconding accused for forgery and cheating

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an absconding accused, Shri Jaleelkunju Kutteethekathil Sainaba at Chennai who is involved in a forgery and cheating case. It is alleged that Jaleelkunju Kutteethekathil Sainaba, an Indian Citizen in connivance with some unknown persons, fraudulently received payment of Dirhams 1,50,000/-, which was granted as death compensation by a Dubai Court for the accidental death of Shri Moideen Kunhi P. Mayinkutty, Pallathungal, an Indian Citizen, by making misrepresentation, forgery of documents and by using them as genuine.

The accused was absconding and evading arrest. A cash reward of Rs. One lakh was also declared for his arrest and a look out notice was also issued against the accused.

Jaleelkunju is being interrogated to ascertain the links of other conspirators as it is suspected that a racket has been operating in the UAE for collecting death compensation amounts from the Courts on the basis of forged Power of Attorney.
