The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for establishing the Armed Forces Tribunal under Article 246 of the Constitution of India, as per the Armed Forces Tribunal Bill, 2005 for the adjudication of complaints and disputes regarding service matters and appeals arising out of the verdicts of Courts Martial of the uniformed personnel of the Army, Navy and Air Force. The Bill will be introduced in Parliament shortly.
