baalu approves national highway improvement works in uttaranchal

The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on various National Highway sections in the State of Uttaranchal at a total cost of over Rs.20 crore (Rs. 2007.65 lakh).

An amount of Rs. 480.20 lakh has been approved for widening and strengthening in km 38.400 to 48 of NH-125 Sitarganj-Pithoragarh Road (Jagpura bridge to Pithoragarh section) in the State.

Construction of 24 m span girder bridge in km 90 of Rampur-Nanital NH-87 at Kathgodam (Nainital) has also been approved at a cost of Rs. 103.86 lakh. Approval has also been granted for Improvement of Riding Quality work from Buakhal to Srinagar in km 256.200 to 271.200 of NH-119 at a cost of Rs.441.34 lakh.

Approval of Rs.484.62 lakh has also been granted for Widening and Improvement of a portion of 2 kms stretch from Khanpur to UP Border of Laksar-Dallawala Road under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of inter-state Connectivity

Further, Improvement of Riding Quality in Km. 1 to 14 of NH-87 Ext. (Jeolikote-Almora-Panduakhal Motor Road) has been approved at an amount of Rs.497.63 lakh in the state.
