baalu approves national highway improvement works in tamil nadu

The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on National Highway sections in the State of Tamil Nadu at a total cost of Rs. 889.03 lakh.

Approval has been granted for Providing paved shoulders including reconstruction of culverts, protection works and drains in Kms 0/00 to 10/00 (Nageroi-Aralvaimozhi Road) of NH-47 B at a total cost of Rs. 435.67 lakh.

Approval has also been granted for Improvement of Riding Quality in Km. 120/000 to 136/000 of NH-210 at a cost of Rs. 379.53 lakh near Tiruvadanai. The stretch is badly damaged at several places and has started developing potholes and patches on the pavement surface. This road connects the important district headquarters, marketing places and leads to the renowned pilgrim centre of Rameshwaram.

Work of Reconstruction of 17 culverts has been approved from km 0/0 to km 19/0 (Sanjapur-Hosur Road) of NH-207 at a cost of Rs. 61.69 lakh. Reconstruction of culverts at km 3/4 and 5/6 of NH-210 (near Kiranur in Pudukottai District) at a cost of Rs.12.14 lakh has also been sanctioned.
