baalu approves national highway improvement works in assam

The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on various National Highway sections in the State of Assam at a cost of over Rs. 22 crore (Rs. 2222.64 lakh).

The approval has been granted for the following works on NHs in Assam :

· Construction of paved shoulder from km 37/0 to 42/0 in stretches of NH-38 under Dibrugarh NH Division at a cost of Rs. 158.08 lakh.

· Construction of footpath cum drain on both sides of roadway at Kabaitary town area from km 16/120 to 17/150 of NH-31B under Abhayapuri Construction Division at a cost of Rs. 117.54 lakh.

· Providing retro-reflective sign boards and other road furniture on different NHs under Guwahati & Dibrugarh NH circle at a cost of Rs.75.81 lakh.

· Construction of paved shoulder in km 666 of NH-37 under Dibrugarh NH Division at a cost of Rs. 35.09 lakh.

· Improvement of Riding quality from Km 105/0 to 115/0 and providing paved shoulder in km 110, 111, 115 & from km 134/0 to 144/0 of NH-37 under Guwahati NH Division at a cost of Rs.721.58 lakh.

· Improvement of Riding quality in km 605, 606, 607, 608, 610, 640, 641, 643 & 644 (total 8.22 km) of NH-37 under Guwahati NH Division at a cost of Rs.443.25 lakh.

· Periodical renewals of five Sections of NHs in Assam at a cost of Rs.671.29 lakh.
