Air Force Association (AFA) completes 25 years of its existence and celebrates Silver Jubilee and Annual Day on 15 Sep 05 and 16 Sep 05.

AFA is a welfare organization in the non-governmental sector, actively involved in the welfare of retired Air Force personnel and their families. The organization is also deeply committed in alleviating the sufferings of the widows and the destitute children.

The Association was established on 15 Sep 1980 under the patronage of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh DFC. Presently it has seventeen branches spread all over the Country. In addition, it has two branches in UK and Australia. It has more than 38000 members both officers, PBORs and widows of ex-IAF personnel on its roll. The Association has the honour of having the last retired Chief of the Air Staff as its President. Presently, Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswamy PVSM AVSM VM & Bar (Retd) is holding the reigns of Air Force Association since 12 Jan 2005.

The raising day of the AFA is celebrated on 15 Sep each year. It is an occasion when the valour and heroic deeds of gallant Air Force personnel, who had made supreme sacrifice in the past of defend our country, are remembered. The Annual Day also provides opportunities to the serving and the retired Air Force personnel to strengthen the bonds of Comradeship, brotherhood, and espirit-de-corps.

On the occasion of AFA Silver Jubilee, AFA felicitates three life time achievers namely Justice JM James of Kerala High Court, Dr. EP Antony, Member – Kerala Public Service Commission and Shri Arun L Desai, Chairman – Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd. These Ex-Air Force personnel from ranks gained greater achievements with their dedication, hard work and sincerity. Air Force feels proud of the their achievements.
