Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved the acquisition of an Oceanographic Research Vessel at an estimated cost of Rs.189.63 crore.
A modern multi-disciplinary ocean-going research vessel would enable an expansion in the reach of National Institute of Oceanography to carry out observations to improve the understanding of the seas around India and translate this knowledge to benefit the nation.
This project would be completed in four years.
