Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) today paid a dividend cheque of Rs. 27.30 lakhs to the Government of India. BECIL Chairman Shri K. R. P. Verma handed over the dividend cheque to the Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Culture, Shri S. Jaipal Reddy. The consultancy organization of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting more than doubled its turnover to Rs. 37.73 crores for the year 2004-05 against Rs. 16.83 crores in the preceding year. The organization has a capital base of Rs. 1.36 crores. The gross profit for the year went up to Rs. 2.01 crores from Rs. 1.73 crores.
BECIL has specialized in the areas of FM broadcasting, establishment of TV channels, installation of teleports, design of digital newsroom systems, direct to home (DTH) system, cable head-end systems, distance education systems through satellite, community radio stations and acoustics, stage lighting, sound reinforcement system.
