The Vice President Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has expressed deep grief at the passing away of Nirupa Roy, renowned actress of Indian Cinema. Paying tributes to Nirupa Roy, the Vice President said that while essaying the various dimensions of womanhood, Nirupaji gave a new meaning and stature to the character of Mother in Hindi Films, for which she will always be remembered. Besides being a gifted actress she was a sensitive human being also. She would remain a source of inspiration to the new generation of actors. The Nation and film industry has lost an accomplished actress.
My wife joins me in sending our heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and pray the Almighty to grant them strength and fortitude to withstand this tragedy, Shri Shekhawat added.
