Indian Railways have provided a sum of Rs. 31 crores for completion of the last phase of the Guna-Etawah new broad gauge lines from Bhind to Etwah. The work on this section is targeted for completion in the current fiscal year. So far, Rs. 329.54 crores has been incurred on this project.
However, a problem has arisen in the acquisition of land falling in Gharial Wild Life Sanctuary for which permission of the Supreme Court is required. The Government has initiated action to seek the approval of the apex court.
