Shri P.M. Nair, IAS who is to retire on October 31, 2004 has been appointed as Secretary to the President of India with effect from November 1, 2004 on contract basis. The ACC has approved the appointment. The official Notification says that the terms and conditions of appointment of Shri Nair is to be finalized by the President’s Secretariat in consultation with the Department of Personnel and Training for a tenure co-terminous with the term of the present President of India.
