Indian Railways will outsource 21 Clean Train Stations across the country during the current fiscal year. This will be on the pattern of the Pilot Project at Ratlam.
The stations are : Bhusaval and Ballarshah on Central Railway, Patna and Mughalsarai on East Central Railway, Khurda Road and Vishakhapatnam on East Cost Railway, New Delhi on Northern Railway, Allahabad, Kanpur and Jhansi on North Central Railway, Gorakhpur and Lucknow Junction on North Eastern Railway, Guwahati and Alipurduar on Northeast Frontier Railway, Erode on Southern Railway, Vijaywada on South Central Railway Rourkela on South Eastern Railway, Hubli on South Western Railway, Ahmedabad on Western Railway and Itarsi on West Central Railway.
This will be in addition to 28 Clean Train Stations now underway departmentally during the current financial year.
Setting up of Clean Train Stations is intended to ensure that all long distance trains are cleaned thoroughly every six to eight hours of journey, within the duration of the halt enroute with the watering stations.
