The total production of Alumina hydrate by the National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a public sector unit of the Mines Ministry, during the first half of 2004-05, has been 780,000 tonnes against the target of 775,500 tonnes. During the period, aluminium production has been 156,629 tonnes against the target of 167,800 tonnes. The bauxite production during these six months has been 2,008,513 tonnes against the target of 2,255,000 tonnes.
During September 2004, alumina hydrate production by the company has been 130,000 tonnes exceeding the target of 1,26,000 tonnes. Aluminium cast metal production during the month has been 28,034 tonnes against the target of 29,550 tonnes. Bauxite production during the month has been 432,325 tonnes against the target of 365,000 tonnes.
