The MHRD has reconstituted the General Body of Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan, Ujjan. The Minister for Human Resource Development will be the new chairman of Pratishthan, while Prof. Srinivas Rath nominated as Vice-Chairman and Dr. Kedar Nath Shukla, Treasurer of this body.

Five Vedic Scholars representing institutions engaged in traditional vedic learning are also included in the General Body of the Pratishthan. They are: Dr. T.I. Radhakrishnan, Shanta Vidya Pratishthanam, Thirssur Kerala, Prof. Ramaranjan Mukherjee, President, Sitaramdas Omkarnath Sanskrit Shikesha Samsad, Kolkatta, Shri Kiran Sharma, Asom Veda Vidyalaya, Guwahati, Swami Sharadanand, Narottamand Vedic Vidyalaya, Allahabad and Shri D. Prahaladacharya of Purnaprajna Vidyapeeth, Bangalore. Four eminent Vedic Scholars are also nominated for this body are: Dr. Y.K. Mishra, Varanasi, Prof. Kishor Chandra Mahapatra from Puri, Prof. Veerendra Kumar Verma, New Delhi and Shri Chandra Bhushan Sharma from Ujjain. Beside, there are 20 other members representing different Government Departments, Institutions and Universities have also been nominated to the General Body of the Prathshthan.

The Government of India has constituted a society on 1987 namely, Rashtriya Veda Vidya Prathshthan at Ujjain with the object to preserve, conserve and develop the oral tradition of vedic studies for which the Pratishthan has been undertaking various activities, such as supporting traditional vedic institutions and scholars, providing fellowships, scholarships etc.
