The Labour and Employment Minister Shri Sis Ram Ola felicitated Indian medal winners at Para Olympics here today. These included Devendera and Rajinder Singh. The International sports event for the disabled was held recently at Athens in which more than 170 countries participated. Devendra won gold in Javelin Throw event by creating a new world record of 62.15 mts. He broke his own record of 59.76 meters set up at Barmingham. It is for the first time India has won gold in this event in Para Olympics. Rajinder Singh won bronze in power lifting.

Shri Ola described the achievement of the two Para-Olympians as a great honour for the nation. He said that Centre and state Governments must liberately assist sports persons for achieving greater excellence.
