The Ministry of Food Processing Industries is currently developing human resources specific to the sector. Training programmes are organized for persons already engaged in food processing activities to update their skills. Food Processing and Training Centres are being set up for this purpose. Besides, entrepreneurial development programmes are also taken up. Under this scheme, the Ministry facilitates universities and other academic institutions in running degree and diploma courses in food processing. The training programme also includes extension services by creating infrastructural facilities like libraries, laboratories, pilot plants and extension services on the basis of new technology and research.
