The Union Cabinet gave its ex-post facto approval on Wednesday for extension of one year term i.e. from 1.5.2004 to 30.4.2005 of the three existing Development Boards in Maharashtra, namely, Vidarbha Development Board, Marathwada Development Board and Development Board for the Rest of Maharashtra.
The term of the three development Boards in Maharashtra was due to expire on 30.4.2004 and to give further extension of one year was crucial for yielding results and achieving targets of clearing backlog and overall development of regions under these development Boards
