Wednesday, October 27, 2004

A five-member delegation from the People’s Republic of China led by Mr. Cui Huille, Senior Advisor to the Chinese Minister of Labour and Social Security, called on the Union Labour Minister, Shri Sis Ram Ola, here today.

The two sides discussed the challenges arising from the process of globalisation and expressed their desire to share each other’s experience. Both sides agreed that exchanges in labour and social security are important aspects of our bilateral relationship. They must promote greater coordination on labour and employment issues in international and multilateral forums. It was felt that India and China can effectively safeguard the interests of the developing countries.

Earlier, the delegation had an interactive meeting with the Ministry officials.
