The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) has elected Shri B.Rajaram, Managing Director, Konkan Railway Corporation as a Fellow. This is a very prestigious honour conferred on him in line with eminent personalities like the President, Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Secretary, Atomic Energy, Dr. Anil Kakodkar and Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government, Dr.N. Chidambaram. As a Fellow of the Academy, the person is obliged to follow the code of ethics, maintain integrity in research and publications, uphold the cause of engineering, maintain the dignity of the Academy, endeavour to be objective in judgement and strive for the enrichment of human values and thoughts.
The Fellowship will become effective from January 1, 2005. It will be conferred upon Shri Rajaram during an Induction Ceremony. A Fellowship Certificate will be presented to him on the occasion.
Shri Rajaram has been instrumental in devising revolutionary new engineering technologies like Anti-Collision Device, Sky Bus Metro, Self Stabilizing Track, Auto Driving Devices, Inclinometers and so on. He believes in indigenous technological solutions rather than administrative ones. His mission it has been to improve the quality of human life through technology at no extra cost to the users and devising new technologies his passion.
Earlier this month, Shri Rajaram also received the prestigious S.B. Joshi Smruti Award for excellence in Bridge and Structural Engineering. The Award is instituted by the Alumni Association of College of Engineering, Pune. Shri Rajaram was given the scroll of honour for relentlessly working and developing gadgets, instrumentation, systems that have made Konkan Railway efficient.
