Tourist arrivals in the country upto September this year registered an increase of 25.5% over the arrivals in the corresponding period of 2003. Total arrivals upto the month were 2328563.
During January-September, 2004 foreign exchange earnings through tourist arrival also registered 35.4% increase over the earnings of corresponding period of last year. So far, this year tourism has fetched foreign exchange of Rs. 15815.28 crores. Monthwise arrivals and foreign exchange earnings are as follow:
