Government has released 13 lakh tonnes of sugar as quota of indigenous free sale for the month of November 2004. With a levy quota of 2.16 lakh tonnes released earlier for this month, the total availability of sugar for November 2004 would be 15.16 lakh tonnes.
The free sale quotas are meant only for internal consumption and with enough stocks of sugar in hand. Government is in a position to release further quantities in case of requirement.
