Constable Ramchandra Samant attached to the Shivaji
Parjk Police station was arrested in Dadar restaurant
on 11th Oct. 05 for accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000
from a girl, who worked for a "Chat Line "
at Vile Parle. On 9th. Oct.05, Constable Samant under
the pretext of enquiry into a prostituation complaint,
allegedly took her to the seaface at chowpatty and tried
to molest her.Thereafter, she was allegedly taken to
a nearby restaurant and the constable demanded a sum
of Rs. 25000/- as a bribe for not registering a case
against her. This victim then approached ACB and lodged
a complaint against Samant, who was later caught red
handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from
her on 11th. Oct.05.
